Subnet

What is a subnet?

A subnet is a range of IP addresses in your VPC.

Subnets speed up your virtual network to direct traffic more efficiently. By creating subnets, you can stay organized while giving you an extra layer of security by minimizing your network’s attack surface.

You can launch your resources into a specific subnet to protect your applications from the failure of a single zone. When you create a subnet, you specify the IPv4 CIDR block for the subnet, which is a subset of the VPC CIDR block.
